Comedy careers are measured in milestones. Tomorrow starts a new month, so that seemed like a good theme for today. So here are two milestones that are actually related.
Andrew Frank: Macrocosm
One of the biggest milestones any comic can hit is the completion of their first full hour of material, with the hopes of turning that into an album. One of our favorite local comics, Andrew Frank, has done just that, and he’s made the video available on YouTube for free. You’d be remiss if you didn’t go watch it now. It’s been really fun to watch Andrew work towards this achievement. Here it is!
Want to record your own special? Well, the first milestone any comic experiences is that moment they decide to finally listen to all of the friends who’ve ever said they were funny, and sign up at an open mic. If that’s you, or you want to see someone else start down that path, there are a few options tonight.
Funny Bone St. Louis (614 Westport Plaza Drive, Maryland Heights, MO 63146) – The Funny Bone is the oldest comedy club in St. Louis, and has been the launching pad for a lot great nationally recognized comics.
