Spring Comedy Has Sprung, Hon – St. Louis Comedy Roundup 3/20-3/26

Temperatures are rising, globally on average and not just seasonally, meaning baby squirrels flit across the street dodging your damn cars, chirping birds take their revenge from above, and St. Louis comedy shows are in bloom!  You know what they were doing months ago.  Our St. Louis comedy shows were getting it on and ’tis the season to see those baby comedy shows birth new jokes into the fresh Spring air!

Of course, most of the St. Louis comedy shows happen indoors at night, so none of that sunny stuff if happening.  Unbearable heat is on the way and you can prepare for it by coming to a show in an air-conditioned venue!


Monday 3/20St. Louis Comedy - Comedy Shipwreck

Palomino Open Mic  (10:30PM, The Palomino Lounge 5876 Delmar Blvd. St. Louis, MO 63112) – Zack Stovall (SketchPAD, The Catalogue) hosts this newest addition to the St. Louis comedy scene.  Soft R&B and an old school vibe set this up as the coolest of the cool venues for comedy and features a new host every week.

St. Louis Comedy - WordUpA WORDUP! COMEDY COMPETITION (7 PM, Legacy Books 5249 Delmar Boulevard St. Louis, MO 63108) – Artists of all kinds are welcome to take part in the monthly competition for a $100 cash prize!

St. Louis Comedy - Wild Card WednesdayWild Card Wednesday Night Comedy  (10:30PM, The Crow’s Nest, 7336 Manchester, St. Louis, MO 63143) – How horrifying would it be if your games of Circle of Death were played in front of a full bar? See what happens at Wild Card Wednesday where comedians do just that.  This weekly open mic continues its month full of guest hosts this week.

Tom Brown features this week while Yale Hollander takes up hosting duties while the hosts are busy at The Heavy Anchor.  Are their glasses real? Why?

Fitz’s Comedy Night Presents: Max Price  (10PM, Fitz’s Comedy Night, 6605 Delmar Blvd University City, MO 63130) – The longest running St. Louis comedy open mic plays host this week’s featured comedian Max Price, a slender, tattooed young man who’s a straight shooter.

Once Upon A Time Improv (7:30PM, The Monocle, 4510 Manchester, St. Louis, MO 63110) – Once Upon a Time will take you on a journey of in the moment improvised theater and comedy. Each night is a variety show centered on storytelling and narrative performance. CSt. Louis Comedy - Contraceptive Comedyontraceptive Comedy (8PM, Shameless Grounds, LLC, 1901 Withnell Ave St. Louis, MO 63118) – The only monthly comedy show in a sexy coffee shop, seriously, look at the book selection!  This month’s lineup is 83% from out of town and features Tina Dybal, Dwight Simmons, Zain Zaidi, Tommy F. Oler, Christie Buchele, and Rachel Weeks.  Enjoy the ramblings of curmudgeon host Stryker Spurlock!

St. Louis Comedy - A Solid 20A Solid 20 (8PM, The Monocle, 4510 Manchester Ave St Louis, MO 63110) – Swanky is the word for the fanciest offering of comedy in The Grove neighborhood. Patrick Trowbridge, Ella Fritts, and Jonathan Venegoni are featured on this show that gives, you guessed it, 20 minute feature sets to all the comics!

The Funny Bone on Wednesday, March 22nd hosts a local showcase with St. Louis Comedy favorites Max Price, Brian McDowell, Reggie Edwards, and Bobby Jaycox! The weekend at Funny Bone plays host to Comedy Central’s Adam Ray. Helium St. Louis features an exclusive one time event with Christopher Titus on the same night as well as a whole weekend with Simpsons alum Dana Gould.
