Charlie Winfrey is a regular performer at the Westport Funny Bone here in St. Louis. His self-deprecating and irreverent style of comedy has helped him land some great shows, including opening up for the great Doug Stanhope.
Check out his website.
How long have you been performing stand up?
Who are your comedic influences?
Doug Stanhope, Mitch Hedberg, Dave Chappelle.
What was your worst moment on stage?
Doing more time than I was ready to do, I quit for 6 months.
What do you like most about the St. Louis comedy scene?
My favorite thing about the st Louis is scene is that everybody’s got a place that they can shine in, be it the alt rooms I know little about, open mics I rarely go to any more or the two legitimate comedy clubs. What a hoot!
I’m typing this in a coffee shop. Is there anything you’d like the other people here to know?
To the people sitting by you, ask them if they’re as upset as I am about the plight of the working man.
Rank the following in descending order or coolness: Pirate, Ninja, Zombie, Robot
