Well, the sun came back and the world didn’t end. Luckily, the St. Louis Independent Comedy scene planned for this possibility and scheduled shows to keep you laughing in this post-eclipse society.
Check out the area’s longest running club open mic at The Funny Bone in Westport Plaza. We promise no one will be wearing shorts. Unless you’re more into the bar scene. If that’s the case, head over to Bar 101 for their weekly open mic. Stick around to play some volleyball after.
If you’re looking for a club open mic, The Laugh Lounge in Florissant has you covered. This new club, owned by St. Louis comedian Jesse Taylor, picks their weekly hosts and guest comics from the crew attending this open mic. After that, Wild Card Comedy at the Crow’s Nest brings its weekly open-mic-meets-drinking-game to downtown Maplewood.
Want a booked showcase instead? Hit The Funny Bone for Max Price’s weekly local show.
Two great independent shows are up for grabs tonight. Aaron Sawyer partners with Ken Warner for Sawyer’s new bi-monthly show, “Boondoggle” at The Heavy Anchor. Across town, Zack Stovall brings a new episode of “Fancy Things” to The Improv Shop. Both shows sound great.
Head over to the East Side where Class Clowns presents “Ladies Night.” Natalie Monroe hosts with Princess Shabazz, Kym Dobbs, and Mrs. Tiffany on stage. Tonight’s also the last night for Stryker Spurlock’s comedy hour at St. Lou Fringe.
That’s a lot of comedy. Show details are at all the links, or just head over to our event calendar.
Don’t let the summer of laughs slip away from you.
