Have you ever had that moment where you just look at someone when they say or do something and ask ‘how are you still functioning?’ Well, so has Mollie Amburgey. So she’s doing a comedy special in honor of those moments before letting them rest in peace forever.
After doing her original special ‘I’m So Famous I Get Recognized At The Wendy’s’ in March, Mollie Amburgey is back for a follow-up special, ‘How Are You Still Functioning?’ at The Monocle. Some highlights include her Italian mother encouraging her to drink bourbon, the anxiety to choose between KFC and Taco Bell when they are combined into one restaurant, and how her dad tells people he met her mom when she popped out of a cake.
The evening also features a preview from theatrical producers and music artists Superjaz and DDare Bionic from Same Difference Productions. A percentage of the proceeds will be donated to United Way for Hurricane Relief in Puerto Rico.
Tickets are $15. Doors at 7:30. Show at 8pm. Get there early to grab a delicious cocktail from the bar!
Over the course of the next week, we’re going to highlight some shows coming up next month. It’ll give you a chance to plan ahead, while giving us the appearance of regularly posting content. Clearly the definition of “win-win!”

It’s a dumb pun, but it correctly expresses our desire for you to see a live comedy show this weekend. Starting tonight. There are so many choices, you might have an anxiety attack. You know, that feeling when you’re presented with so many choices that your chest tightens and your vision starts to tunnel? Your breathing speeds up and gets shallow. Your body temperature increases. You feel like you’re going to faint.
Then you remember, it’s just comedy. No one’s going to die if you don’t choose their show. So pick the one closest to you. Or the one your friends will be at. Or throw a dart at your computer monitor and see where it puts you.
