It’s been a rough year for the comedy only open mics in the St. Louis scene. A few open mics either changed their formats, became once a month affairs, or closed completely. That’s why it’s kind of a big deal when a new open mic hits that one year anniversary mark. Congratulations to Josh Slobe for continuing to bring us a weekly independent open mic every Tuesday at Bar 101 in Soulard. Continue reading “Happy Birthday, Comedy 101 at Bar 101!”
On July 1, we started posting these little profiles of people involved in the local comedy scene. Tomorrow, the last day of July, we will publish the 31st profile. Continue reading “And now, a brief word from the management.”
St. Louis is full of comedic talent. Stand up comics, improv comics, podcast hosts, writers, and other performers keep our scene fresh and exciting. Our goal for the rest of this summer is to start highlighting some of that talent by introducing you to the people you’ll see on local stages, the people you can hear on the air or via your internet connection, and the people who run various shows around town. It’ll be a fun series that starts July 1st. Make sure you check it out.
